New Molly Retirements???!!

Wow, that's a really long list of retirements for Molly. [img]frown.gif[/img] I find it really odd that they would retire her bed, trunk, etc. Nothing of Samantha's was retired when Nellie was released. And "only" Felicity's tea lesson, chocolate set and party treats were retired and replaced by movie-themed items. They didn't make a new bed for Elizabeth, just bedding. Molly's bedding couldn't really be changed because the headboard is the same fabric. Maybe they are coming out with a new bed that can have two different beddings similar to Felicity/Elizabeth? And after the new clothes press for F/E, maybe Molly/Emily are getting a piece of furniture instead of a trunk... [img]graemlins/wonder.gif[/img] I hope there are a LOT of new Molly items this summer.

I hope everyone can get the things they want before they are gone. Who knows what eBay prices will be? [img]graemlins/grrr.gif[/img]

It looks like Miss Molly may be getting a total make-over and my guess is that it will move her into the pastel range (as in her swimsuit and skating outfits).

I hope Molly will be getting some new cute things. She really needs some things that are feminine!I only need the brown oxfords, and I'm kicking myself over Miss Victory. I knew I should have ordered it last month!

Thank you for the list of Today girl retirements. I just ordered the party table yesterday! Man! I have the worst luck! But I seem to be mainly collecting today outfits lately, so its good to know what is going. The yoga outfit and cocnuts pj's have been long gone for a while now haven't they?

Nooo!!! I'm soo disappointed. How can they discontinue her bedding and the summer camp outfit?!?!

I guess I'll order her dude ranch outfit and brown oxfords. I could really live without the other stuff. I have Miss Victory(I bought as soon as she hit the sale page)and Route 66. I hope the new things for Molly aren't as disappointing as F/E's stuff was to me. I surely hope they don't give her storage as lame as that new clothes press.

If the bed and trunk are being retired but not the table and chairs or other color coordinated items such as the suitcase, maybe Molly's color scheme is just being broadened instead of totally changed.

I have to admit I'd love a trundle bed for Molly and Emily, and it would be a smart way of selling beds when Emily comes out. (I doubt very many people bought a second Sam's bed or Felicity's bed).

But Molly's trunk is very practical and holds a great deal. I really hope we won't see a replay of the new Felicity's wardrobe. If AG has decided that what people really want is a place to store dolls rather than store their clothes, etc., I think they're making a mistake.

As for the items on this list, they seem like such a big part of Molly's identity. I really hope AG doesn't try to change her too much!

Don't worry too much about missing the Miss Victory outfit. The fabric is pathetic--stiff satiny material. The velcro really does a number on it.

The dude ranch outfit isn't anything to write home about either. They should have stuck with velcro fasteners & faux pearl snaps. They tried to use real snaps & the fabric is too thick so they pull out. But at least the fabric is cotton & it really is cute. The boots are to die for!!

I'm amazed the trunk would be discontinued. It's really a nice item & reminds me of the doll trunks I had as a child.

The after school outfit's a favorite of mine & the Christmas stocking items are cute too. Well, it'll be fun to see what AG comes out with this fall. I hope the Emily doll stays the way she is in the links posted on this board. We hope to get her!

I guess AG is on a shock and awe campaign. I just can't believe so much of Molly's collection is going to be retired. I don't understand. But, I guess I should have expected it. And I have to say that nearly every prediction made on this board in the past has come true. Poor Molly. DD loves her collection. I guess I will have to quiz her as to what she might want for Christmas. Then try to achieve my goals before it is all gone. [img]frown.gif[/img]

Man, they sure are getting rid of lots of stuff! I know it "makes room" as they call it, for new items, but this seems really weird to retire so much at once! I hope all you Molly collectors get the items you need.

I think we're seeing a pattern here with the Christmas sets. Kit's waffle iron is going out; all of Felicity's Christmas acc. (except her doll)are retired; Addy's sweet potato set is retired; now they are retiring Molly's stocking and I've been hearing rumors here that Kirsten's St. Lucia tray is next. I'm sorry, but what is wrong with Christmas accessory sets? I don't see why they got rid of nearly all of them, maybe they don't sell as well? This is very frustrating!

They're also getting rid of a lot of Today stuff too. I guess there's some new items about to come out, which would be nice. Fortunately I only need-er, want-one dress from that list, the Birthday Girl outfit. There are several outfits that are much older than the ones listed that are still hanging around. I would love to know how they decide what "needs" to go.

Hmmm...sorry for so much venting, but retirement issues bug me.

Oh, my! I have many of the items on Molly's list tucked away for future gift-giving for DD, but that is a LARGE list of items! I love the trunk and was hoping to get it...someday. I'll be sad if it is gone for good. My hope is that they will come out with new and improved versions of some of these things. My fear is that they won't be as nice! No codes and possible retirements, what's a Molly lover to do?
